Google Panda is Google’s algorithm update that aims to provide rich and high-quality content in search results. It lowers the rank of low-quality sites and pushes the quality sites to the top of the search results.
Since its creation, Google has released eight updates of varying degrees aimed at perfecting the algorithm so that search queries always return the most likely results to please the user.

The Development of Google Panda
The name "Panda" comes from Navneet Panda, a Google engineer who created the technology that allowed Google to build and implement the algorithm.
The technology developed by Navneet Panda enables Google to electronically evaluate websites based on many of the same quality criteria such as site speed, uniqueness and value of content that were previously used by Google’s human website testers.
