How to Secure Your Smartphone or iPhone

Step 1- Enable Password Protection to Your Smartphone:

The most effective way to keep your Smartphone safe is to enable password protection to it. It may be noted that your password shouldn’t be common like 123456, password, 12345678, qwerty, dragon,1234, 12345, baseball, football, monkey, 696969, abc123, Michael, shadow, master, Jennifer, 111111, 2000, Jordan, superman, Harley, 1234567, titanic, Jesus, justin, iloveyou or ihateyou which can easily hacked by anyone. It is better to keep your password strong.

For most phones, you can set your password in Settings-> Security but you should search it manually to know exactly where it is. an option to set any difficult pattern which may be hard for anyone to guess. To set one for your Android phone, go to
Settings->Security->Change Unlock Pattern. Check Require Pattern to enter a swipe pattern. Once you are done with it,
then only you will be able to enter it on home screen to unlock it.

Windows Phone 7:

Windows Phone 7 gives you an option to set a lock screen password. You can set it by going to your application list and
press Settings there. In settings you will see an option Lock & Wallpaper. Turn on the Password option there. Once it’s
done, you’ll be asked to enter a new password twice. Once you enter your new password, press done to save your settings.

Step 2- Enable Remote Wipe on Your SmartPhone:

Remote Wipe is a critical security feature that gives you an ability to remotely erase your phone data and restore it to
the factory settings if it gets lost or stolen. This feature may prove very helpful for you if unfortunately your phone
falls into the wrong hands.

Step 3- Turn Off GPS, Bluetooth & avoid Using Free but Unsecured Wi-Fi Access:
It is better to turn off Bluetooth, GPS or Wi-Fi of your Smartphone once you are done with it. It not only drains your

Always be sure you have an up to date antivirus installed to your Smartphone.
